Vernon "Glenn" Greenwell, Jr., 62, passed away on Sunday, April 13, 2025, in Louisville, Jefferson County, Kentucky, leaving behind a legacy defined by hard work, faith, and a passion for life. Born on September 22,1962, in Shelbyville, Shelby County, Kentucky, Glenn was a devoted father, brother, and friend who touched the lives of many through his kindness and generosity.
In his professional life, Glenn was known for his dedication while working in Tool & Dye maintenance at Steel Technology. His commitment to his work exemplified his strong work ethic and reliability, attributes that were admired by colleagues and friends alike.
Glenn's passions extended beyond work. He was a member of the Shelbyville Church of Christ and the Shelbyville Moose Lodge, where he found community and fellowship. Glenn cherished the moments spent golfing, fishing, and swimming, activities that not only brought him joy but also allowed him to create lasting memories with family and friends.
He is survived by his daughter, Carrie Mackenzie (Fergus) of Louisville, Kentucky, and his son, Taylor J. Greenwell (Holly) of Shelbyville, Kentucky. Glenn is also survived by his sisters, Cheryl Thurman of Pleasureville, Kentucky and Linda Adcock (Brent) of Taylorsville, Kentucky, and his brother, Scott Greenwell of Pleasureville, Kentucky. Additionally, he is fondly remembered by his two grandchildren, Owen Connelly and Felicity Greenwell, who brought immense joy to his life. Glenn's close friendships with Victor Fallis, Jr., Clint Peyton, and Robin Logan were also a significant part of his life, reflecting the deep connections he nurtured throughout the years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon Glenn Greenwell, Sr. and Mary Alice (Land) Greenwell, who shaped his character and values.
A visitation to honor Glenn's life will be held on Friday, April 18, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Sholar-Riley Funeral Home located at 5710 Castle Hwy, Pleasureville, Kentucky, 40057. Family and friends are invited to gather and share their memories of Glenn, celebrating a life well-lived and a spirit that will forever remain in the hearts of those he loved.
