Scott Banta

Scott Banta, age 60, of La Grange, KY passed away on Thursday, November 16, 2023, in Crestwood, KY.  He was born on June 19, 1963, in Shelbyville, Shelby County, KY to the late Jerald Dean and Mary F. (Lay) Banta. Scott attended Westport Baptist Church in Westport, KY and was a tool and die maker at Alcatel. He loved fishing, hunting and golf, enjoyed his grandkids and played softball and basketball.

Survivors include three daughters; Rachel K. Secor (Stewart) of La Grange, KY, Olivia J. Farmer (Maxwell) of La Grange, KY, and Meghan (Sean) Przybysz, one son; Jared S. Banta (Madison) of Crestwood, KY, three sisters; Judy Fallis of Shelbyville, KY, Phyllis Beckley (Terry) of Eminence, KY, and Sheila Lyons (Todd) of Eminence, KY, two brothers; Mike D. Banta (Susie) of Pleasureville, KY, and Gary D. Banta (Vicky) of Pendleton, KY, eight grandchildren; Nicholai Secor, Oliver Secor, Isaac Secor, Olivia Nichols, Nina S. Przybysz, Emily Banta, Andrew Banta and Charlotte Farmer and his former wife; Tammy Pikago of La Grange, KY.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at Sholar-Riley Funeral Home with Rev. Rick Lucas officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday, November 22, 2023, from 11:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. Burial will be in the Cropper Cemetery.

Honorary pallbearers will be Adam Banta, Michael Banta, Stewart Secor, Jared Banta, Maxwell Farmer, Tony Pikago and Anthony Pikago. Pallbearers will be Bryan Neuner, Trent Rich, Kevin Rich, Josh Lyons, Brad Lyons, Brandon Holmes, Patrick Mahoney and Andrew Mahoney.
