Robert Imel

Robert Carroll Imel, age 82 of Shelbyville, died Thursday, June 25, 2015 at the VA Medical Center in Lexington. He was born August 12, 1932 at Clements Bottom in Henry County and was the son of the late Frank and Pauline Dyke Imel. He was a self-employed carpenter and construction worker, a member of Drennon Christian Church, and a United States Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He is survived by one son: Phillip "Phil" Imel (Velda) of Cropper; three daughters: Libby Adams (Jeff) of Pleasureville, Jennifer Haydon of Shelbyville, and Michelle Adams (Steve) of Shelbyville; six grandchildren: Travis Adams, Shimel Haydon, Megan Imel, Ashlie Adams Williams, Jessica Adams, and Casey Adams; and one great-grandchild: Imelie Adams. He was preceded in death by two brothers: Jerry Imel and Paul Wayne Imel; and one sister: Mary Graush. Cremation was chosen and a private memorial service will be held at a later date.
