Rita Carol Bright

Rita Carol Payne Bright, age 76, of Eminence, passed away on Friday, September 16, 2022. She was born September 9, 1946, to the late Gayle Harrison Payne and Martha Louise Kelley Payne. She was a member of New Castle Methodist Church and attended Grub Ridge Church. Rita worked for the Kentucky Department of Revenue and was retired from the Henry County P.V.A. She loved her grandchildren and the Cincinnati Reds.


She is survived by two daughters: Gina Lyle (Les) of Campbellsburg and Tara LeCompte (Chuck) of Frankfort; one sister: Janet Payne Abner of Campbellsburg; 7 grandchildren: Will Lyle, Adam Lyle, Ethan Lyle, Tosha LeCompte Tillett (Trae), Brent LeCompte (Kirsten), Molly LeCompte and Maddie LeCompte; and 2 great grandchildren: Eloise LeCompte and Harrison LeCompte.


She is preceded in death by her husband: Marshall “Lynn” Bright; one son: Marty Bright; and two sisters: Linda Payne Grauman and Gayla Sue Payne.


Honorary pallbearers will be Vicki League, Brenda Morgan, Kay Hartigan, Carolyn Heightchew Powers, Jane Dean, Judy Stanley and Jennifer Smoot.


A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. Sunday, October 2, 2022, at Sholar-Riley Funeral Home of Pleasureville. Brother Garry Polston will officiate. Visitation will be from 12 p.m. until the time of the service on Sunday, October 2, 2022.
