Ralph Ray Hance, Jr.

Ralph Hance, Jr. born June 20, 1941, in Lockport Ky to his parents Ralph and Achie Hance. He had 6 siblings: Rosa Lee Grigsby, Libby Cornish, Anna Bell Dale, Sue Kelley,  Lena Yeary and John Bradford Hance. Ralph was a devoted Husband to: Reba Yeary Hance. Father to 7 children: Teresa Ann Roberts, Kim Darlene Ricketts, Glenn Ray Hance, Rodney Allen Hance, Ralph Ray Hance III, and Shawn Lenyel Estes. He was a Grandfather to 14 and Great Grandfather to 20. He was a Farmer and a Friend to all that met him. Ralph was preceded in death by his parents Ralph Ray Hance Sr., Achie Browning Hance, and his daughter Ramona Hance.

Ralph married his wife Reba Hance in November 1979 and has been lovingly devoted to her every day of his life. Together they had 1 child, Ralph Ray Hance, III. Together they blended their families to raise Glenn and Rodney Hance, Teresa, Kim and Shawn Estes.

Ralph was well known as a devoted Christian, he was a deacon at English Christian Church, and recently was attending Lockport Baptist Church. He was a proud Roadie for his wife’s dulcimer groups. And He was well known by anyone who worked for him on the farm in tobacco for his “Dunnie sandwiches”.

Ralph will be greatly missed for his sly humor, Godly devotion, and loving heart. He was a Loving Husband, an Amazing Father, and wonderful role model. We all can only hope to be as patient, loving and caring as Ralph Hance Jr was.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Friday, February 3, 2023, at Sholar-Riley Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Thursday, February 2, 2023 from 4:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M., at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Wallace Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Nathaniel Hance, Kerry Flores, Thomas Hardy, Lenyel Estes, Jory Heveline, Brandon Beckley, Curt Beatty and Mike Herd.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hosparus of Louisville or Happy Hills Christian Camp in care of Sholar-Riley Funeral Home.
