Peggy Louise Godbey Woods

Peggy Louise Godbey Woods, age 73 of Pleasureville, died Thursday, December 21, 2017 at Baptist Health, Louisville. She was born June 18, 1944 in Mount Olivet, and was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband: Jesse Bain Woods of Pleasureville; her mother: Orpha Phillippe Godbey of Carrollton; two sons: Ricky Woods (Mary) of Turners Station, and Rex Woods (Emilee) of Pleasureville; two daughters: Beverly True (Terry) and Vanessa Corley (Tom), all of Pleasureville; two brothers: Jerry Godbey of Gest, and Terry Godbey of Carrollton; two sisters: Darlene Austin (Charles) of Edinburg, Indiana, and Joyce Rose of Carrollton;
Fourteen grandchildren: Jeremy Woods, Travis True, Sam True, J.D. Belcher, Cody Woods, Blake Gregory, Brittany Corley, Crystal Woods, Kristina Corley, Heather Jones, Abigail Larime, Carrie Meckisis, Morgan Gregory, and Julia Gregory; and seven great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her father, Jefferson Godbey.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 27, 2017, at Sholar Funeral Home of Pleasureville. Services will be officiated by Pastor Adam Lawson of the Word of Life Church in Shelbyville. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday, December 26, 2017, and from 10 a.m. until time of services on Wednesday. Burial will be in Franklinton Cemetery.

Honorary pallbearers will be her eight granddaughters. Active pallbearers will be her six grandsons.
