Orpha Manola Godbey

Orpha Manola Godbey, age 90, of Carrollton, died Saturday, July 21, 2018 in Carrollton.

She was born in Liberty, Kentucky, in Casey County to Jacob Robert Phillippe and Nina Mae Owens Phillippe, on January 17, 1928. She worked as a caregiver.

She is survived by two sons: Jerry D. Godbey of Gestville, and Terry Godbey of Carrollton; two daughters: Darlena Austin (Charles) of Edenburg, Indiana, and Joyce Rose of Carrollton; two sisters: Beulah Willams of Yosemite, and Norma Jean Ashley of Eubank; son-in law: Jesse Woods; sister-in-law: Gerri Phillippe; nine grandchildren, thirty-two great-grandchildren, and more than forty great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by sisters: Gladys Emerson and Anna Bess Mandel; brothers: Jesse Phillippe, Jake Phillippe, Jr., and Janis Phillippe; daughter: Peggy Woods; and one great-grandchild: Jessica McCarthy.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 25 2018, at Sholar Funeral Home of Pleasureville. Visitation will be from 4p.m. until 8p.m. Tuesday, July 24, 2018 and from 11 a.m. until time of services on Wednesday. Interment will be in Franklinton Cemetery.
