Norman (Norm) Thomas Wood, age 85 of Eminence, died Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at the Norton Brownsboro Hospital in Louisville. He was born December 8, 1930 in Upton, and was the son of the late Albert Stanley Wood and Olian Bandy Wood. He owned and operated Norm’s Food World Grocery in Eminence for several years and was a member of Henry Christian Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in Korea.
He is survived by three sons: Steven Lewis Wood (Becky) of Eminence, David Stanley Wood (Brenda) of Smithfield, and Charles Spencer Wood (Amy Jo) of Eminence; one sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Jane and John Brackett of Louisville; eight grandchildren: Christy Lauren Coleman, Gabriel Adam Wood, Joshua Stephen Wood, David Thomas Wood, Michael Caleb Wood, Ethan Nicholas Wood, Abigail Emma Lee Wood, and Hannah Josephine Grace Wood; and ten great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife: Sally Louise Jones Wood; a son: Norman Thomas Wood, II; and a brother Stanley Wood.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at Henry Christian Church. Burial will be in Franklinton Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8:30 pm on Monday, October 17, 2016 and from noon until time of the service on Tuesday. Arrangements by Sholar Funeral Home of Pleasureville.
Pallbearers include David Thomas Wood, Michael Caleb Wood, Gabriel Adam Wood, Joshua Stephen Wood, Ethan Nicholas Wood, Steven Lewis Wood, and David Stanley Wood.
