Nellie Stivers Bohannon, age 86 of Shelbyville, KY Nellie Stivers Bohannon, age 86 of Shelbyville, died Thursday, January 9, 2014 at Baptist East Hospital in Louisville. She was a retired employee from the Kentucky Revenue Cabinet and a volunteer for the Red Cross, Hospice, Kings Daughters Hospital and Shelby County Tourism Commission. Nellie was the widow of Lester W. Bohannon, her husband of sixty-two years, who predeceased her in 2006. She was born in Bethlehem, Kentucky on January 1, 1928 to the late Minice J. and Maude Stivers. She is survived by her children, Alice K. Collier and David L. Bohannon (Betsy); grandchildren: Clay Thomas Collier, Tracey Blair Bohannon , and Amy Elizabeth Bohannon (Martin Gilmore, III); and great-grandchild: Martin Edward Gilmore, IV. She is also survived by her sisters, Martha Gadlage and Frances Terhune, and brother, Norman Stivers (Reta). She was preceded in death by a sister, Lucille Delaney, and brothers, Martin and Ollie Stivers. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday, January 12, 2014 at Sholar Funeral Home of Pleasureville. Interment will be in Pleasureville Cemetery.
