Maudie Josephine Harlow, age 84 of Bagdad, died Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at Norton Hospital in Louisville. She was born October 1, 1932 in Franklin County, and was the daughter of the late Omer and Lizzie E. Willhoite Harp. She was a homemaker and a member of Highland Baptist Church in Shelbyville.
She is survived by her husband of sixty-five years: Calvin Harlow of Bagdad; one daughter: Vonda Arnsparger (and husband Dale) of Bagdad; one granddaughter: Laura Owens (and husband Doug) of Lexington; two sisters: Mary Driver (and husband Ted) of Bagdad, and Dora Elizabeth Shaw of Covington, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers: Jimmy Harp, Buddy Harp, Pete Harp, and Homer Harp; and one sister: Beulah Thomas.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 28, 2016, at Sholar Funeral Home of Pleasureville. Services will be officiated by Rev. Chris Platt, pastor of Highland Baptist Church, and Rev. Gary Ellcessor, pastor of Alton Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday, December 26, 2016, and 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday, December 27, 2016. Burial will be in Pleasureville Cemetery.
