Martha Joyce Petitt Thurman

Martha Joyce Petitt Thurman, age 91, of New Castle, KY passed away Sunday, November 6, 2022, at New Castle Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was born on September 10, 1931, in Franklinton, KY, the daughter of Step and Nannie Bell Aldridge Petitt. Martha was a member of Eminence Baptist Church and enjoyed walking her dog, Angel.

She is survived by one son; Robert Wayne Thurman of Eminence, KY, one daughter; Joyce LaVern (Robert) Snook of Smithfield, KY, 8 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband; William Thurman (2003), two brothers; Walter Petitt and Kayo Petitt, two sisters; Hazel Peyton and Bea Spears, one great grandchild; James R. Warner and one great-great grandchild; Waylon Shadbolt.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 P.M., Thursday, November 10, 2022, at Sholar-Riley Funeral Home with Rev. Clint Walker and Rev. Michael Duncan officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday, November 9, 2022, from 4:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M., at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Eminence Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be James C. Warner, Robbie Aldridge, Brad Peyton, Chad Peyton, Robbie Thurman and Gary Roberts.
