Marion Earl "Buddy" Mobley

Marion E. “Buddy” Mobley, age 92, of Smithfield, KY passed away on Tuesday, March 23, 2021, at the The Robley Rex Veterans Administration Palliative Care Center. He was a member of DeHaven Baptist Church in LaGrange, KY. Buddy celebrated his 60th year as a Freemason and was a member of the Pleasureville Lodge #410. He was honorably discharged from the Air Force. Afterward, he began a career as a barber, which lasted for over 60 years. For the past 14 years, he owned “Buddy’s Barber Shop” in Pleasureville. He enjoyed visiting with all his clients and trading stories of hunting, fishing and gardening. In his retirement, he treasured spending time on their farm.

Buddy is survived by his beloved wife, Faye Clifford Patterson Mobley. Children: Debbie Mobley, Pamela Hillrick, Mark Mobley, Bonnie McLane, Tony Patterson, Troy Patterson, Lisa Cuzick, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by father Marion Noel Mobley, mother Melvina Katherine “Katie” Thornton Mobley, sisters: Kathleen M. Owen, Mary Ruth Smith and Ina Faye Raymond.

A celebration of his life will be held on Monday, March 29, 2021, at 11 am at Sholar Funeral Home, 5710 Castle Hwy, Pleasureville, KY 40057. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 28, 2021, from 4-7 pm. A graveside service will be held at Valley of Rest Cemetery in LaGrange, KY immediately following.
