Joyce Wilson Walenczyk

Joyce “Joy” Wilson Walenczyk, age 82 of LaGrange, died Thursday, August 2, 2018 at Magnolia Springs East in Louisville.

She was born January 23, 1936 in Pleasureville to the late Porter and Marie Jackson Wilson. She retired from Eckerd Drugs in Auburndale, Florida after working there for more than thirty years, and later retired from Monsour Builders, LaGrange. She was a member of LaGrange Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading and listening to music and spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her five children: Dana Early Emily (Steven) of Jericho, Bob Early, Shelbyville, David Early (Becky) Shelbyville, Cheryl Gawryck, Nebraska and Daniel J. Gawryck Jr., Austin, Texas; one brother: Carl Ray Wilson (Marsha) of West Bayden, Indiana; one sister: Darris Bailey (James E.) of Lexington, seven grandchildren, and eight great-grand children.

She was preceded in death her husband: Stanley Walenczyk, a sister, Betty McIntyre, and a grandson, Joshua David Early.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to her best friend, Linda Groves and caregiver, Mildred Toombs for their love and support.

Memorial services are scheduled for 2 p.m. August 10, 2018 at Sholar Funeral Home of Pleasureville. Dennis Dove of Shelby Christian Church, will officiate.
