John T. Watson, age 80, of Eminence, died Thursday, August 22, 2013 in Shelby County. He was born in Waddy, and was the son of the late Chester B. Watson and Willie Addie Miller Watson. He was a carpenter and farmer. He is survived by his companion: Elnora McAllister of Eminence; three sons: Gary Thomas Watson of Bagdad, Richard Lynn Watson of Mount Eden, and Terry Scott Watson of Eminence; one daughter: Rebecca Redenbaugh (Eric) of Shelbyville; one brother: Kenneth Watson of Colorado Springs; three sisters: Sue Parson of Carrollton, Daisy Perry of Lawrenceburg, and Joan LeCompte of Shelbyville; ten grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Shouse. Funeral services are scheduled of 2 p.m. Monday, August 26, 2013 at Sholar Funeral Home of Pleasureville with Rev. Ted Shouse officiating. He will be taken by a horse-drawn covered wagon to Cropper Cemetery for burial. Casket bearers will be Tracy Barnes, Immanuel Hill, Isaiah Hill, Micah Husband, Zachary Husband, and Sammy Scott Watson.
