John Lewis Kemper, age 87, of Bethlehem, died Thursday, March 6, 2014 at Baptist Northeast Hospital in LaGrange. He was born in Bagdad, and was the son of the late Obie and Belle Peyton Kemper. He was a retired owner and operator of a local milk route. He is survived by his wife, Minnie Chisholm Kemper of Bethlehem, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday, March 10, 2014 at Sholar Funeral Home of Pleasureville with Rev. Bob Litton, pastor of Union Baptist Church officiating. Interment will be in Defoe Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 - 8 p.m. Sunday, March 9, 2014 at the funeral home. Honorary pallbearers will be Pete Adams, Leon Barnett, Ronnie Golden, Frank Jackson, Darrell Kemper, Ray Moore, G.W. Perry, Harold Sutton, Robbie Yount and Elbert Webb.
