Jack Coons, Jr.

Jack Coons, Jr., age 73, of Eminence, died Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at the Hosparus Inpatient Unit in Louisville. He was born November 27, 1945 and was the son of the late Jack Coons, Sr. and Sue Katherine Coons Kindred. He had worked at Fischer Packing Company in Louisville from 1967 until he retired in 2001.

He is survived by one daughter: Ramona Gail Coons Fox (Kenny) of Eminence: one brother: George M. Coons (Sue); one sister: Glenna Sue Coons Chisholm (Robert); three grandchildren: Whitney Scott Bramblett, Jacob Corey Roberts (Abigail), and Derek Michael Roberts; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his wife: Shirley Ann Brewer Coons; a daughter: Annetta Lynn Coons Roberts; and sister: Mary Phyllis Coons Bowling.

Services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, May 3, 2019 at Sholar Funeral Home of Pleasureville. Mike Roberts and Rev. John Lepper will officiate. Visitation will be 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. the day of the services. Burial will be in Eminence Cemetery.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Roberts, Paul “Peanuts” Brewer, Charles Lyons, Robert Chisholm. Vernon Hamilton, and C. W. Maddox.

Pallbearers will be Sam Jennings, Jr., Paul Brewer, Jr., Matthew Jackson, David Case, Mark Messina, and Jeffrey Moore.
