Hillis Beverly

Hillis Dean Beverly, age 76, of Lockport, died Wednesday, September 20, 2017, at Hosparus Inpatient Care Center in Louisville. He was born in Lockport on August 13, 1941, and was the son of the late Lawrence Elzy and Dottie Arnold Beverly. He was a farmer and a member of Daybreak Baptist Church in Eminence.

He is survived by his son: Mark Anthony Beverly (Doris) of Pleasureville; and two grandchildren: Robert William Beverly and Steven Clay Beverly.

He is preceded in death by his wife: Annabelle Beverly; a son: Glenn Beverly; two brothers: J.W. Beverly and Melvin Beverly; and two sisters: Mary Elizabeth Carter and Joyce Chisholm.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday, September 24, 2017 at Sholar Funeral Home of Pleasureville with Pastor Michael Fitzgerald and Arnold Bennett Chisholm officiating. Burial will be in Pleasureville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Saturday, September 23, 2017 and from noon until time of the service on Sunday.

Honorary pallbearers are Violet Spear, Carol Smither, Kirby Beverly, Wesley Beverly, John Chisholm, and Pete Dawson. Active pallbearers are Robert Beverly, Clay Beverly, Daryl Martin, David Martin, Lawrence Beverly, and Calvin Beverly.
