Hazel Marie McAlister Baxter, age 86, of Pleasureville, died Monday, July 16, 2018 at the Masonic Home of Shelbyville.
She was born in Pleasureville on December 10, 1931 to Minice and Laura Arnold McAlister. She was a homemaker and child-care worker and a member of Eminence Baptist Church.
She is survived by three sons: Glenn Baxter (Kathy Ann) of Eminence, Eddie Baxter (Charlene) of Pleasureville, and Jimmy Baxter (Kathy Jo) of Bagdad; three daughters: Charlotte Land (Joe) of Shelbyville; Pam Aldridge (Doug) of Mt. Eden, and Valerie DeMumbree of Athens, Alabama; one brother: Minice McAlister, Jr. (Marie) of Smithfield; one sister: Norma Jean Heightchew of New Castle; nine grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband: William H. Baxter; a daughter: Janet Hicks; her grandson: Jamie Robinson; and brothers: Elmer McAlister and Elzy McAlister.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday, July 20, 2018, at Sholar Funeral Home of Pleasureville. Rev. Michael Duncan, former pastor of Eminence Baptist Church will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 8p.m. Thursday, July 19, 2018 and from 10 a.m. until time of services on Friday. Interment will be in Eminence Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Chris Ellis, Matthew Baxter, Allen Baxter, Jordan Smitha, Garrett Perry, Destry Aldridge, and Colten Aldridge.
Expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of contributions to the Chapel of the Masonic of Shelbyville, 711 Frankfort Road, Shelbyville, KY 40065.
