Goldie Brewer

Goldie Elizabeth Bickers Brewer, age 92 of Pleasureville, died Monday, January 22, 2018, at Jewish Hospital in Shelbyville. She was born January 18, 1926 in Lawrenceburg, and was the daughter of the late Robert and Minnie Princess Baker Bickers. She was owner and operator of Six-Mile Jamboree for more than fifty-four years. She was a member of Fox Creek Christian Church in Anderson County.

She is survived by her daughter: Ramona Ann Gaines of Eminence; two brothers: Willis Bickers of Lawrenceburg, and Wadie Bickers of Bagdad; one sister; Sadie Mae Clark of Bethlehem; two grandchildren: Stephen Larue Gaines (Karen), and Gregory Allen Gaines (Phyllis); and great-grandchildren: Tiffiny Troxell, Caj Gaines, Reese Gaines, Jacob Gaines, Chris Gaines, and Jonathan Gaines: and several great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lucien Brewer.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday, January 25, 2018, at Sholar Funeral Home of Pleasureville. Services will be officiated by Rev. Carl Leslie Rucker. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday, January 24, 2018, and from 10 a.m. until time of services on Thursday. Burial will be in Defoe Cemetery.
