Elsa Matheney

Leonila "Elsa" Matheney died just like she wanted: surrounded by her children and her friends in her home on Sunday, October 27, 2013. Elsa was born in the Isle of Pines, Cuba in 1937; she moved to the Pleasureville area in 1965, to make her home in this community. She was loved by many in this community and is survived by her sons Louis (Liz Barnes) Perez of Pleasureville, KY, Joseph (Sylvia) Perez of Harlingen, TX and her daughter Juliana (Simon Blackwell) Perez of Bainbridge Island, WA; her grandchildren Eli (Hannah) Perez, Zane Sackett, Tyler Blackwell, Lauren Sackett, Ethan Perez and Niki Barnes. She was preceded in death by her husband Nova Eugene (Butch) Matheney (October 25, 2007). She is also survived by her sister in spirit Joyce Cobb and her surrogate son Danny Cobb. Pall Bearers are Louis Perez, Joe Perez, Juliana Perez, Simon Blackwell, Ethan Perez and Jeff Browning. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 30 2013 at Pleasureville Baptist Church. Visitation will be 5 - 8 p.m. Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at the Church.
