Ed Downey, Sr.

Ed Downey, Sr., age 81 of the Franklinton Community of Pleasureville, died Saturday, January 26, 2019 at his residence. He was born March 24, 1937 in Bethlehem, and was the son of the late Marvin Downey, Sr. and Ida Maupins Downey. He had worked at Stivers Heating and Air Conditioning.

He is survived by his son: Ed Downey, Jr. (Natasha) of New Albany, Indiana; one brother: Ray Downey, Sr. (Bonnie) of Bethlehem; one sister: Myrtle Stodghill of Oldham County; and two grandchildren: Codi Erin Lee Northern and Taylor Anthony Liebersbach. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Margaret Downey, and his daughter, Ida Marie Downey.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday, February 1, 2019, at Sholar Funeral Home of Pleasureville. Bonnie Ethington will officiate. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of services on day of the funeral. Burial will be in New Castle Cemetery.
