Darren Jackson Smith, age 37, of La Grange, died Monday, September 22, 2014 at his residence. He worked as a Technician for the Henry County Water District and belonged to Southeast Christian Church, Oldham Campus in Crestwood. He is survived by his wife: Cristi Mingus Smith of La Grange; his parents: Glenn F. Smith and Ruthie Tingle Smith of Pleasureville; one step-son: Laymon Durbin of La Grange; one step-daughter: Jenna Edmonds of La Grange; one brother: Nathan Glenn Smith (Ashley) of Louisville; and two step-grandchildren: Emma Durbin and Jayce Horton; one niece: Ruth Ellison Smith; and one nephew named for him: Jackson Robert Smith. Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday, September 26, 2014 at Southeast Christian Church, Oldham Campus in Crestwood with Rev. Greg Allen officiating. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday, September 25, 2014 at Sholar Funeral Home of Pleasureville and from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Friday at the church.
