Chester Floyd Wilson

Chester Floyd Wilson, age 81, of Shelbyville, KY passed away at Hosparus Inpatient Care Center, in Louisville, KY on August 29, 2023.  He was born on September 8, 1941, in Henry County, KY to Floyd and Bratty (Powell) Wilson. Chester was a member of First Apostolic Church of Shelbyville and a veteran of the United States Army.  He retired from Safety Kleen and formerly worked at Belknap Hardware. He enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling, bowling and loved his family.

Survivors include his wife; Jane Combs Wilson, three daughters; Eunice E. (Steve) Metcalfe of Eminence, KY, Betsy (Kevin) Parrish of Crestwood, KY, and Emilee A. (Rex) Woods of Pleasureville, KY, one brother, Ernest D. (Barbara) Wilson of Pendleton, KY, nine grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters; Joyce Day and Marie Callis.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, September 2, 2023, at Sholar-Riley Funeral Home with the Rev. Adam Lawson and Rev. Ed Berry officiating.  Visitation will be held on Friday, September 1, 2023, at the funeral home from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. The entombment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery and Mausoleum, in Louisville, KY. 

Pallbearers will be Blake Gregory, Tom Rowe, Peter Dodd, Ryan Mott, Darin Ison and Shawn Mertz.
