Charlie Edward James, age 82 of Pleasureville, died Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville. He was born December 31, 1932 and was the son of the late Marshall Arthur James and Cordia Emma Henderson James. He was a farmer, a member of Pleasureville Baptist Church and former member of Franklinton Baptist Church, former owner of Globe Warehouses, former Deacon at Franklinton Baptist Church from 1961 until 1996, previous Director of Southern States, a previous worker for General Electric, and a faithful follower of the Cincinnati Reds and the University of Kentucky Wildcats. He is survived by his wife of sixty-five years: Anna Sue James; five children: Pat Whitaker (Dee) of Jericho; Charlotte Grigsby (Ronnie) of Pleasureville; Sandy Appleman (Mike) of Eminence; Kenny James (Wendy) of Eminence, and Sharon Pollock (Troy) of Casa Grande, Arizona; a half-brother: Robert James (Shirley) of Indiana; a half-sister: Janice Kinney of New Castle; ten grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, several step-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one great-grandson, Dylan Thurman. Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, June 27, 2015 at Pleasureville Baptist Church. Rev. Jerry Anderson and Rev. Jacky Newton will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, June 26, 2015 at Sholar Funeral Home of Pleasureville and from 9 a.m. until time of the funeral at the church on Saturday. Burial will be in Pleasureville Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be Dee Whitaker, Ronnie Grigsby, Mike Appleman, Wendy James, Troy Pollock, Bill Hackett, Ray Croxton, Ronnie Bryant, Tommy Bryant, Sidney Yount, and Paul Dean Heightchew. Active pallbearers will be Brandon Boyer, Jamesy Boyer, Jeremy Thurman, Shane Whitaker, Corey Whitaker, Mike Thomas, Deeanne West, Renee Shaw, Kristie McGowan, Whitney Smith, and Shellee Boyer.
