Charles “Brigham” Leonard Mahoney, age 77, of New Castle, died Tuesday, December 11, 2018, at Baptist Health, LaGrange. He was born September 10, 1941, in Drennon Springs. He was a farmer and attended Crossroads Lighthouse Church in Eminence, and was member of White Baptist Church in Grant County.
He is survived by his wife: Betty Elizabeth Mahoney; one son: James Hughes of Turners Station; two daughters: Amy Hughes Shouse (Christopher) of Pleasureville, and Anna Mae Neace of New Castle; three sisters: Mayree Oliver (Darrell) of Owenton, Opal Brown of Louisville, and Peggy Moore (Don) of Pendleton, and two granddaughters: Olivia Grace Shouse and Haislee Danielle Hughes.
He was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Ronnie Brown.
Funeral services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, December 15, 2018 at Crossroads Lighthouse Church in Eminence. Rev. Nathan Shaw and Rev. Paul Harvey will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, December 14, 2018 at Sholar Funeral Home of Pleasureville and after 11 a.m. at the church the day of the services. Burial will be in New Castle Cemetery.
Pallbearers are James M. Hughes, Gary Mahoney, Deano Mahoney, Heath Grammar, Bruce Robinson, and Kenny Mertz.
Expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of contributions to Sholar Funeral Home, 5710 Castle Highway, Pleasureville, KY 40057, to assist with funeral expenses.
