Cecil Glen Banta

Cecil Glen Banta, age 65, of Pleasureville, KY passed away Thursday, August 17, 2023, at Baptist Health La Grange.  He was born on September 19, 1957, in Shelbyville, KY to Ralph Ray Banta and Martha Frances Wainscott Banta. Cecil was a member of Pleasureville Baptist Church and loved to fish. He worked for Harrod Concrete and Stone in Frankfort and previously at Liter’s Quarry.

His survivors include his wife; Phyllis Ann Clark Banta, two sons; Jeremy Ray (Chrissy) Banta and Jason Clark Banta both of Pleasureville, KY, three sisters; Barbara Garrett of Shelbyville, KY, Karen Broughton of Eminence, KY, and Velda (Phil) Imel of Cropper, KY, one brother; Jerry (Sally) Banta of Eminence, KY, one brother in law and sister in law; Danny and Cheryl Clark of Pleasureville, KY, one granddaughter; Amelia Cate Banta and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother; David Banta.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2023, at 4:00 PM at Pleasureville Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Anderson and Rev. Richard Downing officiating.  Visitation will be Saturday, August 19, 2023, from Noon – 4:00 PM at the church.  Burial will be in the Pleasureville Cemetery. 

Pallbearers will be Landon New, John Bright, Chris Banta, Dee Dee New, David Harrod and Phil Imel.
