Catherine Downey Fisher

Catherine Downey Fisher, age 79 of Pendleton, died Tuesday, January 16, 2018, at her home. She was born February 18, 1938 in Lockport, and was the daughter of the late Walker and Irene Clark Roberts. She was a homemaker and farmer, and a member of Eminence Christian Church.

She is survived by eight children: Ruby Murphy of Worthville, Mary Catherine Downey of Pleasureville, Barbara Ann Raisor and husband Jim of Pleasureville, Froine Cox and husband Butch of Pleasureville, Patricia Ann Cundiff of Pendleton, Elizabeth Thompson and husband Larry of Louisville, Marvin Downey and wife Sandy of Eminence, and Walker Ray Downey of Pendleton; two sisters: Rosetta Downey and Joyce Henry, both of Pleasureville; seventeen grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Anna Grace Stivers.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Sunday, January 21, 2018, at Sholar Funeral Home of Pleasureville. Services will be officiated by Rev. Thomas Minton, pastor of Eminence Christian Church. Rev. Minton will be assisted by J.T. Stinson. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Saturday, January 20, 2018, and from 11 a.m. until time of services on Sunday. Burial will be in Pleasureville Cemetery.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Raisor, J.T. Stinson, Roy Cox, Butch Cox, Jerry Godbey, and Junior Estes.

Active pallbearers will be Roger May, Phil Thurmond, Coleman Downey, Freddie Downey, David Peyton, and Ricky Fisher.
