Bonnie Lou Mcgaughey Ethington

Bonnie Lou McGaughey Ethington, age 74 of Defoe died Saturday, February 5, 2022 at her home. She was born on March 31, 1947 to the late Glenda McGaughey and Elizabeth Reed McGaughey. She worked for many years at the Commonwealth of Kentucky where she retired. She was a member of Pleasant View United Methodist Church. She helped start the Grief Share program in Henry County and was active in Celebrate Recovery.

Bonnie is survived by her husband: Wayne Ethington; one brother: Ronnie McGaughey of Monroe City, Indiana; one sister: Connie Sue Nickell (Rayburn) of Flemingsburg; one grandchild: Gabriella Michelle Ethington and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one son: William “Wally” Huston Ethington; and one sister: Glenna Braden.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at Sholar Funeral Home of Pleasureville. Rev. Gary Polston, Rev. Ed Savage and Rev. Larry Rhodes will officiate. Burial will be in Defoe Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 8, 2022 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and 10 a.m. until time of the service on Wednesday.

Active pallbearers will be Robin Powell, Michael Dempsey, Ben White, Jeff Webb, Glenn Smith and David Gipson.
