Bobbye Carolyn Sharp

Bobbye Carolyn Harper Sharp, age 86, of Pleasureville, KY passed away Monday, September 11, 2023, at her residence. She was born on March 9, 1937, in Shelby County, KY, the daughter of Lester Clements Harper and Lou Ann Ethington Harper. Bobbye was a member of Franklinton Baptist Church and supported Union Baptist Church. She was retired from the Department of Unemployment Insurance and the KHPA scorekeeper of the year in 2001. She liked to quilt, garden, was an excellent cook and loved hummingbirds.

She is survived by one daughter; Gweneth K. Sharp of Pleasureville, KY, one brother; Gayle Harper of Shelbyville, KY, one grandchild; Holly Moore-Sharp, and several cousins, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband; Ralph Kenneth Sharp, special cousin; Sue Kemper and her parents.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Thursday, September 14, 2023, at Sholar-Riley Funeral Home with Rev. Joey Woods officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, from 4:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M and 11 A.M until time of the service on Thursday. Burial will be in the Defoe Cemetery.

Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Moore, Stanley Kemper, Lee Guice, Wayne Ethington, Angie O’Nan, Becky Holmes, Melissa Moore, Cathy Moore, Sharon Baader and Barbara Chesser. Pallbearers will be Wesley Kemper, Brad O’Nan, Brandon Holmes, Seth O’Nan, Anthony Palmer, Wesson Kemper, Chris Abfall and Gwen Sharp.
