Betty L. Preston

Betty L. McIntyre Preston, age 70, of Pleasureville, KY passed away Thursday, July 6, 2023, at her residence.  She was born on January 3, 1953, in Marion Co., IN, the daughter of Willie B. and Cora Lee Brake McIntyre. Betty was a member of Franklinton Baptist Church. She was a homemaker, a foster parent and a farmer. Betty was also a Sunday school teacher, hostess for the bereavement committee at Franklinton Baptist Church, foster parent of the year for three years in a row and formerly owned and operated Pleasureville preschool.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years; John T. Preston, three daughters; Tonia Bell (Joey) of Eminence, KY, Danielle Preston of Pleasureville, KY, and Destiny Preston of Pleasureville, KY, five sons; John W. Preston (Lisa) of Newport, TN, Estill T. Preston of Eminence, KY, Bruce W. Preston (Sarah) of Pleasureville, KY, Christopher L. Preston (Julie) of Chicopee, MA, and Joshua L. Preston (Amanda) of Campbellsburg, KY, two sisters; Shirley Way of Modesto, CA, and Lisa Green of Shelbyville, KY, one brother; James McIntyre of Kokomo, IN, 24 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, five sisters; Norma Hume, Corky Cockrell, Wanda Byrd, Betty McIntyre and Helen Harner, and seven brothers; Raymond McIntyre, Bobby McIntyre, Don McIntyre, George McIntyre, Billy McIntyre, Elmer McIntyre and Charles McIntyre.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, July 10, 2023, at Sholar-Riley Funeral Home with Rev. Jacky Newton officiating. Special music by Jamie Tingle and Chad Peyton. Visitation will be on Sunday, July 9, 2023, from 4:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M., and Monday, July 10, 2023, from 9:00 A.M. until time of the service, at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Point Pleasant Cemetery.

Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Travis Bell, Austin Preston, Dallas Preston, Jonathan Preston, Zain Preston and Hayley Preston.
