Arthur Sanders, Jr.

Arthur Sanders, Jr. of Pleasureville, age 68, died Thursday, November 16, 2017 at Friendship Manor Home and Health Care in Pewee Valley.. He was born June 21, 1949 in Franklinton, and was the son of the late Arthur Sanders, Sr. and Willie Belle Aldridge Sanders. He served as sexton of Pleasureville Cemetery for several years, and worked as a machine operator at Hussey Copper in Eminence. He was a U.S Army Veteran during the Vietnam Era where he earned numerous medals.

He is survived by his son: James Sanders of Eminence; three daughters: Hazel Sanders (Laura) of Louisville; Linda Thomas (Mike) of Sulphur; and Carol Gibson of Pleasureville; two brothers: James Sanders (Carol) of Nevada, and Paul Sanders (Wilma) of Hopkinsville; two sisters; Leanta Heitzman ((Blaine) of Eminence, and Jo Ann Louden of Eminence; six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at Sholar Funeral Home of Pleasureville. Rev. David E. Eisenmenger will officiate. Burial will be in Franklinton Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday, November 20, 2017, and from 11 a.m. until time of service on Tuesday.

Pallbearers will be Hazel Sanders, Michael Thomas, III, Clyde Louden, Ernie Dills, James Spinks, and Clinton Spinks.
