Anna Mary Holbrook, age 88, of Pleasureville, died Thursday, April 5, 2018 at Norton Brownsboro Hospital in Louisville. She was born May 6, 1929, in Paintsville, and was the daughter of the late Wardie and Beulah McKenzie Prater. She retired from Shoppers Mart in Eminence after more than thirty years of service, and was a member of Fishtrap United Baptist Church in Johnson County, KY.
She is survived by two daughters: Diana Arnold (Randy) of Pleasureville, and Karen Parrish (Russell) of Point Pleasant; three brothers: James Prater, John Prater (Barbara), and Billy Prater (Charlotte), all of Paintsville; one sister: Ernestine LaMaster of Ohio; and two grandchildren: Jeffrey Arnold and Bryan Wilson.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Leon Eugene Holbrook; her daughter: Janet Holbrook; two sisters: Abenell Finley and Neva Lee McKenzie; and one brother: George Prater.
Services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, April 8, 2018, at Sholar Funeral Home of Pleasureville. Rev. Paul Briscoe will officiate. Visitation will be 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. Sunday prior to the funeral. Burial will be in Pleasureville Cemetery.
Pallbearers include Bobby Downey, Mason Thomas, Mike Paris, Steve Parrish, Kenny Fox, and Walter Whaley.
