Alex Wesley (AW) Brewer

Alex Wesley (AW) Brewer, age 78 of Bagdad, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 11, 2018, surrounded by family at the Robley Rex VA Medical Center in Louisville, KY. He was born on May 17, 1939, in Shelby County to the late Roy and Celeno Earl Parks Brewer. He was a United States Navy Veteran who served his country proudly.

He is survived by Judy Brewer of Bagdad, his beloved wife of 37 years; three sons: Jason Garth Brewer of Shelbyville, Deron Wesley Brewer (Tonya) of Shelbyville, Roy Earl Brewer (Erin) of Frankfort; three daughters: Jeanna Marie Porter of Washington, Brenda Lee Kinney of Washington, and Sara Jean Brewer (Thomas Sanders) of Louisville; one brother: Roy Leslie Brewer (Becky) of Louisville; six grandchildren: Tyler Wesley Brewer, Cody John Brewer, Hannah Renee Brewer, Jacob Alexander Brewer, Sydney Brewer, and Sophia Brewer; and two great-grandchildren: Bryson Wesley Brewer and Thomas Porter.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Woods.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at Sholar Funeral Home of Pleasureville. Rev. Carl Leslie Rucker will officiate. Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Wednesday. Burial with Military Honors will be at Defoe Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Robert Holcomb, Kevin Wright, Thomas James Sanders, Shane Bennett, Bobby Joe King, and Daryl Wright.
