Alda Marie Mcalister

Alda Marie McAlister, age 83 of Smithfield died February 8, 2021 at her residence. She was born July 9, 1937 to the late George A. Hardwick and Cloria Louise Keith Hardwick. She was a retired meat processor for Fischer Packing Company in Louisville. She was a member of United Food and Commercial Workers International. Alda loved the family farm, gardening, canning and most of all her family.

Alda is survived by her husband of 51 years: Minice McAlister, Jr. of Smithfield; four children: Deborah “Kay” Hart (Richard Hart spouse), Linda Jackson-Bailey (Thomas Bailey spouse), Ronald McAlister (Brenda McAlister spouse), and Deborah “Debbie” Michum (Marvin Michum spouse) all of Smithfield; one sister: Georgia Bernice Cowan (Ronnie Cowan spouse) of Monticello; two brothers: Ronald Hardwick and Eddie Hardwick (Judy Hardwick spouse) both of Bronston; fifteen grandchildren: Damon McKinney, BJ McAlister, Brandy Boyd, Nicholas Rosenberger, Eric Rosenberger, Stephanie Rothenburger, Christina Banta, Samantha Imhoff, Joey Dillie, Cliffy Dillie, Cindy Dillie, Marvin Michum, Isaac Michum, Shawn Bailey and Blake Bailey; twenty-three great-grandchildren: Branch, Trey, Dylan, Hailey, Zaylee, Kay, Xander, Kamrin, Nolin, Harper, Michelle, Joshua, Jose, Riley, Brookie, Carter, Parker, Ollie, Isaac Jr., Joseph, Mackenzi, Aslynn and Aliyah Lynn; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, February 13, 2021 at Sholar Funeral Home of Pleasureville. Marvin Michum and Eric Rosenberger will officiate. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. Friday, February 12, 2021, and from 11 a.m. until time of services on Saturday. Burial will be in Pleasureville Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be BJ McAlister, Nicholas Rosenberger, Eric Rosenberger, Cliffy Dillie, Isaac Michum, and Tony Boyd.
