Agnes Downey

Agnes Peyton Downey, 82 of Bethlehem Agnes Peyton Downey, age 82 of Bethlehem, died Sunday, March 18, 2012. She was born in Bethlehem and was the daughter of the late James and Mary Blanche Banta Peyton. She was a homemaker and a member of Lockport Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband Claude (Dump) Downey of Bethlehem; one son: Jeff Downey of Bethlehem; one brother: Russell Peyton of LaGrange; two sisters: Marcella Yount of Cropper, and Jewel Salmons of Pleasureville; three grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, James T. Downey and a daughter, Mary Elisabeth Downey. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 22, 2012, at Sholar Funeral Home of Pleasureville. Rev. Wayne Kelly, former pastor of Lockport Baptist Church officiated. Burial was in Pleasureville Cemetery.
